People & permissions

Roles, what "Can see" controls, project managers, and notifications.

Roles

RoleCan
RequesterSign in to see their own requests. Optional — anyone can submit without an account.
AgentHas a wall, works tickets, creates tickets and projects, takes from the pool (if allowed).
DispatcherEverything an agent can, plus the dispatch board: assign and move work between people, change project managers.
AdminEverything, plus settings.

Add and edit people under Admin → People. Each person has a name, email, role, department, phone, and password. Staff need a password of at least 8 characters. Deactivate keeps their history but stops them signing in; their open tickets stay assigned until you move them.

"Can see" — limiting an agent's view

For agents only. It decides what the person sees beyond the anonymized public wall:

  • Everything — all tickets, everyone's walls. The default; right for a small team that shares work.
  • Own + unassigned — their own tickets plus the unassigned pool, so they can pick up work but not see colleagues' queues.
  • Own tickets only — just what's assigned to them. The public wall shows them exactly what a requester sees. Use this for contractors, interns, or a shared login on a shop-floor PC.

Dispatchers and admins always see everything.

Project managers are the exception: whatever their setting, they see every task in the projects they manage — that's the whole job.

Notifications

Staff get a bell in the top bar with an unread count, and a Notifications page. When outgoing mail is on, each notification is also emailed. Currently sent for:

  • a task assigned to you (from the dispatch board, a project, or a ticket's edit panel);
  • a task in a project you manage marked done by someone else;
  • the last task in your project completed;
  • a project handed to you.

Opening the Notifications page marks everything read.

A shared login for a kiosk or TV

Create a requester account (say, Lobby screen), set Require sign-in off under Admin → Shop, and open the wall in a browser in full-screen mode. It updates itself.
